To encourage better germination, soak the seeds in water overnight.
Planting Information: Direct sow in full sun/part shade when temps are mild. You can also start indoors on a sunny windowsill if you want to monitor germination, which can be slow. Scatter seeds but do not cover. Will flourish in gardens, raised beds and containers with room for taproots. Once seedlings look strong, thin to 8-12 inches. Plants grow to 9-12 inches tall. They usually only need to be watered once a week unless it’s very hot. They benefit from being fed occasionally with a with a 5-10-5 fertilizer. Once parsley leaves have three separate segments, they are ready to harvest. Pick parsley leaves early in the morning as that is when the herb’s scent is the strongest. To harvest parsley, cut the leaves from the outer part of the plant first. To store fresh parsley, snip entire stems and keep the stems immersed in water in the refrigerator.
